Pleasure - Plaisir

A cute cafe located in West HollywoodPlaisir (French for 'pleasure') is colorful and modern.  iPod nanos line the counter for guests to shuffle through and an image of pouty lips is plastered on the ceiling.  I was attracted to this place when I attended the Savor Los Angeles Sweets event (read about it here).  They served their famous cream puffs and I was hooked.  Chef Phillipe and Sous chef Marco indeed focus on the pleasure of food.

The Extreme Pleasure Belgian Waffle

The service was wonderful and the food was great.  They make all their pastries and ice cream themselves.  My quiche was fluffy and cooked to perfection but I have to call out the Extreme Pleasure belgian waffleAbigail and I shared this enormous pastry bejeweled with bananas, fresh strawberries, whipped cream, and nutella (drool).  Some of our other friends at the table also shared waffles with similar toppings.  The crannies in the waffle was deep enough to hold the perfect dollop of syrup.  Yes, we added a little syrup but it really didn't need it.  Their Belgian waffles are a must try if you stop by.

The cream puffs we had were vanilla, lemon, and strawberry.  Of course my lovely friends let me have the strawberry one.  Flakey on the outside and cool and creamy on the inside.  These little treats are filled with, you know it, pleasure.
