Shut Your

I was cruising in the Arts District of Downtown LA earlier today, and have been meaning to stop in The Pie Hole to try it out.  I have heard good things about this place, and as soon as I passed by a sign that read, "Chicken Pot Pie for reals" that was the selling point for me.  Their down-home feel and buttery aroma invites you right in.

The chicken pot pie {$6.50} was amazing.  The crust was flaky and crispy all around.  They must blind bake their dough to get it that way because there was no soggy bottom crust.  Although honestly, sometimes I like it a little soggy on the bottom - soaking up the juices.  The filling was super tender and moist with herbal flavors.
I really wanted to try their desserts but I was so full from the pie that I just couldn't.  If you decide to stop by let me know how the sweet pies are.  I will definitely be back for the lemon meringue.

It's also awesome that this neighborhood offers so many canvases to several talented artists.  It's fascinating to just walk around and look at all the art.
